Logix Gives $1 Million to Local Charities

1MM to Charities

Something huge happened this month worth a shout-out: Logix Community Stars Foundation has donated $1 million to local charities since 2007!  We are elated and hit this mark because of your generosity!

Many members contribute by donating money for various items offered in our branches as well as through our foundation’s website, www.custars.org.  In addition, more than 75 percent of Logix employees participate in our payroll contribution program.  Donations go to local charities and are ultimately given back to our communities through the meaningful services the nonprofits offer.

Read on to learn more about Logix Community Stars Foundation and a few of the charities we support.

Logix Community Stars Foundation

Logix Community Stars Foundation was formed more than a decade ago with the intent of helping local nonprofit organizations.  The foundation is run by Logix employee volunteers, who donate their time running campaigns that bring in donations for our charities.  Employees also contribute time to local nonprofits through the volunteer time off opportunities we offer throughout the year.  Logix Community Stars Foundation gives the gift of connecting with the community, where our employees and members live.  We are grateful for the number of people and organizations who work to make our community stronger and are honored to be an active participant as well.

While we support many local nonprofits through the year (SCV Project Linus, Bridge to Home, Homes4Families), we’re a proud partner of these wonderful charities: Burbank Temporary Aid Center, Circle of Hope, For The Troops, and Penny Lane Centers.

Burbank Temporary Aid Center (BTAC)

Burbank Temporary Aid Center was founded in 1974 and provides short-term help for individuals and families in need.  The services they provide assist with basic necessities, such as meals, shelter, transportation, and laundry facilities.  In years past during the holidays, BTAC created a “Santa’s Room,” where donated gifts are selected for children, who otherwise may not receive gifts during the holidays.  Logix employees volunteered their time setting up the room and helping parents locate gifts for their children.  BTAC holds several fundraising events throughout the year.  To learn more about BTAC, visit www.burbanktemporaryaidcenter.org.

Circle of Hope

Circle of Hope provides education and support services for uninsured and underinsured individuals with breast, cervical, ovarian, prostate, testicular, uterine or colon cancer, their families, and the community of Santa Clarita Valley.  They raise funds through the many meaningful fundraising events held throughout the year, such as Vine2Wine and Afternoon Tea.  In addition to taking part at these events, every October, Logix has limited edition pink ribbons pins available at our branches for a $5 donation.  Proceeds from pin sales help breast cancer patients and their families.  To learn more about Circle of Hope, visit www.circleofhopeinc.org.

For The Troops

Since For The Troops formed in 2005, they have been sending care packages to U.S. frontline troops and those stationed around the world.  They have sent more than 200,000 packages, filled with personal care items, snacks, games, and personal notes from family and friends.  Logix employees have helped in assembling these thoughtful packages and at our inaugural Community Day, filled 200 care packages for troops.  For The Troops holds many fundraising events throughout the year.  Visit www.forthetroops.org to learn more.

Penny Lane Centers

Penny Lane Centers fosters hopes and dreams by empowering youth and families to reach their highest potential.  They offer residential treatment, foster care, adoption services, transitional housing for emancipated foster youth and more.  Penny Lane Centers was founded in 1969, with offices in San Gabriel and Antelope Valleys and serve 6000 children, youth and families.  Every July, we hold a toy drive, where Logix employees donate gifts for children at Penny Lane Centers.  This year, we collected 130 toys and $1,200 in gift cards and cash.  To learn more about Penny Lane Centers, visit www.pennylane.org.

Our Logix Community Stars Foundation will continue to give back to our community.  We appreciate all the support from our members and employees.  As mentioned above, visit a branch this month and donate to receive a limited edition Robix pink ribbon pin.
