3 Ways to Save by Choosing a Bed & Breakfast for Your Next Vacation

Written by Admin | 7/31/2018

When you're planning your next vacation, consider making reservations at a charming bed & breakfast. This type of lodging can be more personable than a hotel, and the amenities can save you money. Find savings in these three perks:

More comfort in the design: Hotels aren't exactly known for their comfortable furnishings, but bed & breakfast (or, B&B) places typically have furniture more comparable to that in your own home. Many have attractive dens and living room spaces that are cozier and more personable than stark hotels. This provides a cozy meeting space where you can gather with friends and family for board games, a movie, or simply conversation in front of a crackling fireplace. You'll find several B&B places that were formerly large, residential homes, and the layouts and designs reflect this.  So, in other words, you'll likely have more space for your buck.

A delicious breakfast is included: Although many hotels offer a complimentary continental breakfast, they can have limited offerings, such as cold cereal, bagels, or muffins. The breakfasts offered in many B&B venues are typically a buffet, or you can order from a menu. Generally, the menu items are more eclectic than hotels, and greatly exceed hotel options in taste and variety.  Some B&Bs offer boxed lunches for their guests to take with them for a small fee, or complimentary appetizers and drinks during the early evening hours. Both of these services can also save you money.

You get more personalized service: Often, B&B locales are owned by families who are proud to share their home, and communities with visitors. They have a vested interest in a successful business, but also in their city as a tourist attraction. B&B owners are able to give you better insights into what makes their community special, and will be happy to direct you to local deals and time savers.

When you're far from home, it's nice to look forward to a relaxing evening in a comfortable, cozy, and accommodating B&B and be able to dine on a home-cooked breakfast without leaving your lodging. B&B operators are delighted to direct you to attractions that are off the beaten path, but will enable you and your fellow travelers to discover the hidden charms of their city. To do all this, and save money at the same time is well worth spending time researching bed & breakfast accommodations in the area.
