Before You Buy a Home

In the market for a home?  Whether it’s a palace or a fixer upper you better get your credit ready too.

Here are four steps to help you get your ducks in a row.

Step 1: Find out what others are saying about you.  Two or three months before you’re ready to buy a home, get your credit report for free from this www.annualcreditreport.com.

Step 2: If you find anything wrong on your credit report, fight it.  Report errors to the credit agency.

Step 3: Don’t open any new lines of credit.  They’ll hurt your credit score.

Step 4: Stop using your credit cards.  Sure, you might be thinking of new furniture, but now’s not the time to be racking up new debt.

With a little financial housekeeping now you’ll soon be having that housewarming party you dream of.
