Dear Logix Member,
Congress is once again reviewing ways to fund tax reforms, and some lawmakers are considering taxing credit unions like Logix. If that happens, it could lead to higher loan rates, lower savings returns, increased fees, and fewer choices for consumers like you. Over time, this could eliminate the ability of credit unions to compete with big banks and remove banking alternatives like cooperatives from the market—impacting you, your fellow members, and your community.
For decades, credit unions have been exempt from federal income tax because we are not-for-profit financial cooperatives, existing solely to serve our members—not shareholders. At its core, a credit union is a conduit, connecting members who save with members who borrow, without a profit-driven middleman. If Congress were to tax this exchange, it would be like taxing neighbors for helping each other financially—an overreach that would strip away the very foundation of cooperative banking.
Unlike banks, we are required by law to operate without profit and reinvest our earnings back into our members, providing:
✅ Lower loan rates
✅ Higher savings returns
✅ Fewer and lower fees
✅ Personalized service and financial guidance
If Congress revokes our tax exemption, these benefits will be at risk. We need your voice now.
